Currently

Knee deep in packing materials. Our 1000 lbs. of household goods were delivered Friday. It took less than two hours to get all the boxes and furniture unloaded. That compares to the eight hours of packing and six hours of loading it took to get this stuff on the road back in Cali. Of course, we're left to do all the unpacking and already have several hours invested and not much to show for it.

We took a break yesterday for a visit to Waffle House and a drive down to Jacksonville, where Camp Lejeune is. On our way back, we stopped at a few furniture stores and bought a new sofa. We donated the evil, giant sectional with its dual recliners and van conversion styling before we left California. The new piece is being delivered Tuesday. Yay! Seating!

I'll post pictures of all the craziness later.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Did you unpack sheets, blankets, and pillows first? That's what we did! By the time we got everything unloaded from the truck, returned the truck, got the bed upstairs, found sheets and blankets, and made the bed, we were ready to collapse into it. Everything else could wait.

Your own bed NEVER will feel as good as it does the first night back in it, in your new home.

    Happy sleeping!

  2. We did a monkey-load of unpacking and then, yes, fell into our bed. It was a good thing. Hadn't yet found our sheets, etc., but had the stuff we'd been using with the airbed which was the same size. I put the fitted sheet on inside out, but there was no way in hell I was turnin' that thing over at that point. It's still inside out.

  3. Good luck with all of the unpacking, I know it can be overwhelming to say the least. But seeing everything come together will be a lot of fun. Once you have the house unpacked you will have to post some pics of how it looks...I have never seen it. With all the new, fun things you are adding to it, I would really like to see where the two of you live. Tell Brandon I said "Hello"!

    sister-in-law Kim
(since their seems to be 2 of us I thought I would specify!)

  4. It's true, two Kims. Don't think that hasn't led to some confusion in conversations with Brandon. Poor guy gets soooo confused sometimes.
