I don't know why it took me so long to notice


I've been shopping at this grocery store since we got here. No excuse, really, for me not to have seen it sooner.

    Exactly. People mispronounce it as a rule, but it just shouldn't be hanging up at the fancy grocery in six inch letters! Hope they didn't pay by the letter...

    I have a 1994 edition of a Merriam-Webster pocket dictionary that lists sherbet as a drink of sweetened diluted fruit juice & sherbert as a frozen dessert of juice & other ingredients.
