Wanting to be smart about it

We want to give, but we want to do it smartly. I found this site to help evaluate charities. You can see what percentage of their money goes to helping and what percentage goes to administrative costs. Each charity is rated so you can compare. You can also see how much the CEO "earns." I'm sure this is one of many resources. Don't throw good money after bad, take an extra day and check 'em out.

I didn't realize I could comment right here! Love the Scout picture. Who is Scout, exactly?

As far as donating goes, you know me; we donated to IFAW (Intl Fund for Animal Welfare), American Humane Society, and I'd like to give to Noah's Wish (also animal rescue)--they do remarkable work. I figure most people will give to human rescue charities, so we're going for the abandoned animals. I hope to hell they'll be able to save some.

  3. Yes, we're going to give to animals and people. They need each other and we need them both!

Scout is Brandon's sister. Those are her real teeth, too. She's got an underbite and the lower ones stick out at an angle. She's too cute.

Hope you found the charity you want to help. I'm glad things are happening down there, finally!

Scout is the cutiest. Don't get braces for her.
